The Story
Smoke of the Southwest, built by one of Nashville's most decorated pitmasters.
Meet the Pitmaster
Nashville native Carey Bringle has been competing in barbecue contests for more than 27 years — and he's got the blue ribbons to prove it. His cooking is built on a deep Southern background of family values and a serious appreciation for a good meal.
Bringle founded his first restaurant, Peg Leg Porker, in 2013. The name is a nod to Bringle himself and his greatest win: a cancer battle he triumphed at 17. He lost his leg in the fight — and gained a name, and even more fire for what he does.
From Peg Leg to the Oasis
When Peg Leg Porker opened its doors in the heart of Nashville, it was quickly named one of the hottest BBQ joints in the country — by Food Network, The Travel Channel, BBC, Southern Living, Texas Monthly, GQ, Garden & Gun, and many more.
Bringle's second and much-anticipated concept, Bringle's Smoking Oasis, opened in 2021 and brings the smoke of the Southwest to the Nations. The menu is stocked with smoked brisket, the ever-famous pulled pork, a Bringle version of beef ribs, and an array of can't-miss homemade sides — Mexican street corn, chorizo queso, and Texas-style baked beans among them. Pair it all with a bourbon cocktail, and you've got the Oasis.
